Forgiveness
Annie, OIC
Ephesians 1:7- In Him (Jesus Christ) we (His children) have redemption through His shed blood; the forgiveness of (our) sins, ( and sins others commit against us) according to the riches of His grace, (Jesus)
This is why it is soo important that we forgive others their trespasses against us. In the Lord Jesus we have redemption and the power to forgive sins and hurts. He has given it to us, we must give it others. Many of us have a hard time forgiving those who have wronged us. What if God treated us this way? We would not begin to understand. We forgive one thing someone says to us but not the other. We pick and chose what we are willing to forgive on a daily basis. We tend to keep score of all the wrongs others have done us, including everything they owe us. Jesus clearly tells us we must forgive wrongs and debts others have toward us especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.
What if the Lord Jesus kept a scoreboard with our names on it and wrote would he would forgive based on how we treated Him that day? A big blackboard where He wrote what He was willing to forgive and what what He was not willing to forgive all based on how much we hurt Him that day. I am guilty of that very thing. I chose what I will or wont forgive and it makes me so miserable. What is the point in me being in hurt and misery all day because someone I love looks at me wrong, or appears to be doing something I have preserved across the room as doing. When in fact its my own self pitty and insecurities not my beloveds. I would have saved myself a lot of greif if I had just said outloud, Lord I forgive that look, that negitive attitude, or what I perseve is accouring to hurt me. Jesus is the healer of my broken or fractured heart and my emotions.
I am so thankful Jesus is not like me, I am glad when we ask forgiveness He is faithful and just to forgive and wipes the board clean. We should do the same after all He did say follow me. Through he shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven according to His riches in glory. Through His grace we have access to the blood of Jesus to chose to forgive sins of others and hurts they cause us. All we need do is use it. Lord Jesus I choose to forgive the hurts and pains others have caused me today and ask you to cover me with your shed blood and heal me in Jesus name. He gives us the grace we need to forgive others. In Jesus name. amen.
According to the book praying Gods word by Beth Moore, unforgiveness is bondage and sometimes needs to be broken with the word of God. Example prayers in this book are these; lord, as hard as this may be for me to comprehend or even rationalize, your word is clear if I want forgiveness, I must forgive.
Matt. 6:14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly father will forgive yours.
Notice the key word are if you forgive and will forgive meaning if we don’t forgive others He will not forgive ours.
Father, according to your word if I judge others you will judge me. With the same measure as I judge you will judge me.
Matt. 7:1-2
Judge not least ye be judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye also shall be judged and with what measure ye shall be measured.
We have no business judging what we see others doing we have a bad habit. Not only is it non of our business we perseve things wrong most of the time and cause severe hurt.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, the apostle Peter asked a very important question, “Lord how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? You my Lord responded to his question by saying; “ I tell you, not seven times but seventy times seven.” Matt. 18:21-22 Lord help us to forgive others as you have forgiven us. In Jesus name. Amen.
I am 34 yrs old I had a rough past but Gods' hand was on me. All I went through developed me into the beautiful, healthy woman of God I am today.I am perfect in his sight through the blood of Jesus and am moving on into perfection in Glory. "We are not free to love in the true intent of the word until we have found love, in finding Love we find God for God Is Love."In loving others as Christ loves us we are fulfilling the greatest command given by the Lord Jesus himself.
